Sample Random Technique
Simple random sampling is the most widely-used probability sampling method, probably because it is easy to implement and easy to analyze. Simple random technique, the most basic among the probability sampling techniques, involves assembling a sample in such a way that each independent, same-size subset within a population is given an equal chance of becoming a subject. Methods for simple random sampling include lotteries and random number tables. In spite of its advantages, researchers limit the use of simple random sampling, especially when it comes to population-based surveys. Freedom from human bias and classification error remains one of the biggest advantages simple random sampling offers, as it gives each member of a population a fair chance of being selected. If done right, simple random sampling results in a sample highly representative of the population of interest.

Data Collection Method

Direct Questionnaire
Questionnaires is the quick and easy to be quantified. Can be used simple to compare and contrast the research. Can get them to self-complete. Will always be asking the same questions. Can think about how you plan to analyze data and word questions accordingly. Can also conduct surveys as semi-structured interviews. Can post out large numbers at once.

Direct Observation
The main strength of direct observation is that it provides direct access to the social phenomena under consideration. Instead of relying on some kind of self-report, such as asking people what they would do in a certain situation, you actually observe and record their behavior in that situation. This, in principle at least, avoids the wide range of problems associated with self-report. In an interview situation or in response to a questionnaire item, for example, a person may not always provide accurate or complete information, or they might answer in ways that correspond to what is socially desirable.  There is a recognized source of bias in self-report techniques referred to as a 'social desirability set', which means that in many spheres of social life there are socially desirable ways of behaving and, consciously or unconsciously, individuals will tend to respond in that way, although in the 'real world' they might behave differently. Asking children whether they would tend to be helpful to other children in certain situations, for example, would be susceptible to such a source of bias.
